As a member of the Road Haulage Association, we carry all goods under the RHA Conditions of Carriage 2024.
The key points
Our liability is limited. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, our liability for goods that are lost, mis-delivered or damaged is limited to £1,300 per tonne of the gross weight of the goods affected.
Insure your own goods. Because liability is limited by weight rather than value, we recommend you hold your own goods in transit insurance, especially for light, high-value items.
Tell us about high-value loads when you book. We can agree a higher limit of liability for a specific job, with the price adjusted to reflect it.
Report problems straight away. The conditions set strict time limits for telling us about loss, damage or delay, so contact us as soon as you notice anything wrong.
Pack and describe goods properly. You're responsible for packing goods so they're safe to carry and for telling us accurately what they are, how much they weigh and anything we need to know to handle them safely.
